do you ever just watch the first episode of your favorite show again and look at how plain and simple everyone is before character development sets in and terrible shit starts happening to everyone
I’ve decided a lot of things in the last few days and by June they will be put into action and I’m so proud of myself but at the same time nervous because I’m once again stepping off the edge of things I know to pursue my somewhat questionable ambitions
found out my vision exam wasn’t covered by insurance so I now owe $309 to them
what is the point of paying insurance if they’re not going to cover your insured costs?
The kid in Iron Man 3 grows up to become Iron Man in later movies that’s my guess as to why he is signed on for a deal with Marvel
This is just gonna be a rant about my job, no surprise there
Usx had me deliver a load two days ago at 11pm and pick up a load at 4am that delivered outside of my 14 hour clock at 12pm. For those not baptised in the diesel fumes of OTR trucking, we are allowed 11 hours to drive every day as long as it falls within a 14 hour period of work that starts when you do your pretrip inspection and ends with your post trip inspection of your vehicle. It is illegal to work outside those hours and the DOT can and will castrate you if they find out. I’m not going to get into the total fucked nature of this rule as I’ve discovered it to be in the last three days.
I arrived at the receiver at 9am with 14minutes left of my 14 hour and after having been awake and working for 19 hours. I promptly fell asleep as they were unloading. They were done unloading me at 12pm and I pulled around back to sleep after sending my paperwork and setting my PTA (projected time of availability) to midnight because fuck them I was going to sleep for a year at that point. Working overnights under florescent lights is one thing, working overnights in the dark is completely different and utterly draining if you’re not used to it.
I woke up at 10 without a pre-plan (a load to go get). I waited until 1 watching Supernatural to pass the time. I asked what was going on at 1 and they said my PTA was for the 18th. I fixed it. By 4am there was still no load. I set my alarms to wake me up every 40 minutes tocheck and fell back asleep. 7am rolls around and still no load so I ask my FM whats going on. This is almost 24 hours that I’ve been waiting for a preplan this never happens. She finally sends me a load at 10am that picks up at 7pm. If you’re following this fucked up math question of a story, this means that I need to nap yet again so I can pick up the load and drive with it without falling asleep at the wheel. Then she sends me a preplan that delivers in Wisconsin so I can get home on the 21st, and that preplan picks up at 8am. I have been instructed to pickup the first preplan at 7pm, bring it to a drop yard, and pick up the second preplan at 8am. The first is 3 hours away. Figure in 6 hours to the drop yard and 3 hours to the second preplan, I can’t fucking do it.
Using math and logic, my 14 hour clock will run out a little after 5am.
I still have not been informed as to what I should do about this problem and thus I do not know if I should be sleeping for a 14+hour nightshift ahead or if I should be headed to the second preplan despite being 350 miles away.
Except my option is really chosen for me because I can’t go to sleep until I know what’s going on. Do you see the problem here? Do you understand why I don’t want to do anything with you while I am home? Do you fucking understand?!
